Assam Rural Development Society has been working towards the security and wellbeing of children and women in the state. ARDS covers a number of areas under children's and women's welfare. The correspondents of the Society have been working tirelessly for the benefit of women and children in the state.
Assam Rural Development Society has been working to promote helpline centres for deserted or destitute children across the state. This is to help to relocate the abandoned children into different homes and care centers.
ARDS has also been working to prevent the spread of child labour in every nook and corner of the state. The ignorance in the matter of child labour is posing threat to the development of the poor children. Hence, the ARDS has been helping to spread awareness on the same.
Women empowerment is another key role of the the Assam Rural Development Society. In this aspect, the Society proceeds by imparting knowledge and channeling information to the rural women of the state.
ARDS also helps to organize various skill development programs in the state. The result of these programs and training are reaped by the rural women in surpassing their thresholds and becoming financially independent. The skill training is proving fruitful in the upliftment of the rural women as well as in their socio-economic empowerment.
Assam Rural Development Society also thrives to generate awareness among the child labourers regarding the various rights that they are entitled to. The lack of awareness has resulted in the exploitation of the child labourers. The ARDS, therefore, pledges to work for the benefit of these children.
