To organize workshop , seminars and training programs on social culture, development and education related issuing for student, teachers, community leaders, youth and women groups, social workers and others, in collaboration with govt. and non-Govt. organization.
To create employment avenues for the weaker section of society, particularly those living below poverty level and thereby build a healthy rural economy as by enabling them to use their skills by undertaking income generation activities .
The Central Government along with the government of Assam, through the Ministry of Panchayat and Rural Development has been formulating and developing various schemes and missions to uplift the socio-economic status of the rural poor.
There are several schemes, inter alia, Kanaklata Mahila Sabalikaran Yojana, Mahila Kisan Shasaktikaran Pariyojana, Swaccha Khowa Pani Yojana, DDU-GKY.
The Assam Rural Development Society envisages to help in implementing the schemes intended to promote social development. The ARDS has been working for the overall social development of the poor and destitute residing in the state.
One of the important areas under the social development domain of Assam Rural Development Society is to provide adequate shelter to the victims of natural calamities.
The ARDS also renders its assistance in the rehabilitation of the victims.
The ARDS organizes various workshops, seminars and training programs across the state. These programmes are focused on socio-cultural development as well important elements of education. These workshops are intended for students, teachers, community leaders, youth and women groups, social workers and more. The ARDS hold these workshops and seminars in collaboration with government and non-government organisations.
Another crucial task of the Assam Rural Development Society is to create employment avenues for the weaker sections of the society. The creation of employment opportunities is particularly focussed on those youths and women who are living below poverty level.
The developmental activities, thereby, help to build a healthy rural economy by enabling them to use their skills by undertaking income generating activities, taking up different livelihood options supported with provisions of technological as well as marketing support.
